PIG CAMP 2008
Capacity: Pig Camp will be limited to the first 75-80 campers enrolled with payment.
Age Requirement: Enrollment is open to junior age exhibitors 8-18 years old.
Topics Include: Showmanship, fitting, selection, health, management, exercise, training, record keeping, ethics, sportsmanship, nutrition, and skill-a-thon practice.
Livestock: It is recommended that each
participant bring their own animal to work with throughout the 3 day
camp. This allows one on one instruction that specifically deals with
the points of your own animal. For those flying in, animals can be
provided for you with proper notification. A $50.00 fee will be
assessed per animal leased. A) Out of state hogs MUST have a certificate of health inspection within 30 days of arrival from a veterinarian. B) Campers must supply their own bedding. Shavings are recommended. C) Campers must also bring necessary feed, and feeding supplies. D) Animals will be under security watch as a patrolman will be on duty after hours.
Cost: $200.00 per camper which includes lodging, meals, T-shirt, resource material, and stall fees.
Equipment: Oster clippers with 1/2” and ¾” guards, driving sticks (whips, PVC pipe), grooming supplies, spray bottle, brushes, soap, hair and skin conditioning products.
Parents: *If you plan on staying/participating with your child at camp, you MUST be registered as a Full Camper or Supportive Spectator* Parents can register as a full camper or as a Supportive Spectator. This includes options of lodging and meal tickets, T-shirt, and resource material. Supportive Spectator enrollment is available at $95.00 for the weekend. Parents also have the option of staying at surrounding hotels and purchasing meal tickets only when choosing to eat at camp. If you plan to stay or be involved with your child at camp, please fill out the Supportive Spectator Registration Form.

What to Bring: Linens, sleeping bags, towels, toiletries, work clothes, show clothes, tennis shoes, work boots/shoes, sweat shirts, jackets, and theme items for camp.
Required Forms: 1) Release of Liability 2) Emergency Medical Form
All forms are required in order to participate in camp. No forms, no camp!
Registration: 1) Opens December 8, 2007 and closes on April 20, 2008 or when maximum capacity is reached. 2) Payment must accompany the registration form in full in order to be guaranteed a spot within the capacity limit. 3) Capacity will be taken in order of postmark dates. 4) Registration Form 5) Supportive Spectator Form *Parents staying at camp MUST register as one of the above*

Parking: Parking fees will be assessed to vehicles entering the fairgrounds. The daily rate is $4.00 per day with no re-entry. A weekend pass is priced at $12.00 and has unlimited access to the grounds.
